From Idea to Open Course
Five steps. Most first courses get through them in a couple of weekends. The Office of the Dean walks with you the whole way.
Pick the level
101 is free and open to everyone — it is where nearly every professor starts. 200 is professor-guided, $14.99 a month, and certificate-eligible. The full level rules.
Fill in the syllabus template
Work straight down the 101 template or the 200 template. Every blank is a question with a plain answer. If a blank stops you, that is usually the part of the course worth rethinking.
Check it against the standards
Read the Content Standards once before you record anything. They are short, and two of them — what you may never claim, and the accessibility floor — will change how you shoot.
Choose where it lives
YouTube, Zoom, Twitch, TikTok, Discord, Vimeo, or your own site. The Platform Guide tells you what each one is good at and exactly how to set access for your level.
We build your course page
Send us the finished syllabus and your links. We publish a course landing page here that routes students to you, and a professor profile alongside it. Send it to the Dean.
Four Documents, That's All
101-Level Syllabus Template
The free, open, foundational course. Five to ten short lessons, no prerequisites, no paywall, no certificate. Built to give a beginner one real capability and the confidence to want the next one.
200-Level Syllabus Template
The professor-guided course. Assignments, assessments, office hours, private cohort, and a Certificate of Completion at the end. Everything the 101 leaves out, added deliberately.
Content Standards
What every course here obeys: the one claim we make, the claims we never make, the accessibility floor, how we treat students, and what would cause a course to be pulled. Read this before you record.
Platform Guide
Where your class actually lives. What each platform is good at, how to set access for 101 versus 200, our naming conventions, and the links we need from you to build your course page.
You Are Not Doing This Alone
- Course and profile pages built and hosted here, free, forever.
- Teaching and production coaching if you have never taught before.
- A syllabus review from the Office of the Dean before you record.
- Student routing — we send learners to you, on your platform.
- Credential issuance and verification handled entirely by us.
- The disclaimers and legal language written and maintained for you.
We Do Not Take Your Work
- Your content is yours. Your channel, your account, your copyright.
- Your voice is yours. We do not rewrite you into an institutional tone.
- Your audience is yours. Students who find you here stay found.
- You can leave. Ask, and we unpublish your pages. No penalty, no argument.
- At 300-level, you are paid directly by the students you teach.
Have Something You Could Teach Tomorrow?
You almost certainly do. The first course does not have to be the best course you will ever build — it has to exist, and it has to be honest.
