Two Credentials

What We Issue

Certificate
of Completion
Awarded for completion of individual courses, modules, or focused programs of study.
Diploma
Awarded for completion of a structured curriculum within an HMU School, demonstrating sustained study and applied learning.

Each credential clearly identifies the issuing School, the program or course completed, the date of issuance, and the issuing authority.

A note on 100-level courses

100-level courses are free, foundational, and use optional knowledge checks rather than graded assessments. Formal credentials begin at 200-level, where coursework is professor-guided and assessed.

Blockchain Registration

Why an NFT Diploma

At the option of the student, HMU credentials may be registered on a blockchain as Non-Fungible Tokens. This is a verification tool. It is not an investment product, and we make no financial claims of any kind.

I

Immutable proof of issuance

Once registered, the record is permanent. It cannot be altered or deleted — not by an employer, not by a future owner of this institution, and not by us.

II

Resistance to forgery

Anyone can verify that the credential was issued, when, and by whom. A screenshot of a PDF proves nothing; a token on a public ledger proves everything it claims.

III

Student-controlled verification

You hold it. You share the verification link. You do not have to ask us for a transcript, pay a records fee, or hope we still exist in twenty years.

What's recorded
Network identification, token ID or hash, and a public verification reference.
Your rights
Students retain ownership of their credentials and may display them on resumes, portfolios, and profiles; share verification links or token references; and present them to employers, partners, or clients. Credentials must be represented truthfully and accurately.
Cost
Certificates of completion are free or very low cost. Blockchain registration is optional and carries a modest fee to cover the cost of minting.

Limitations & Disclaimers

HMU credentials do not constitute academic accreditation, do not grant professional licensure, and do not replace legal or regulatory requirements.

They represent education completed — not permission to practice regulated professions. Responsibility for the lawful and ethical application of skills rests with the credential holder.

Revocation & Standing

Hope Meta University reserves the right to withhold credentials for violations of academic or ethical standards, revoke credentials obtained through fraud or misrepresentation, and publicly annotate revoked blockchain credentials where applicable.

Revocation exists to protect the integrity of the University and everyone who earned a credential honestly.

For Employers

How to Read an HMU Credential

Employers and third parties are encouraged to interpret a Hope Meta University credential as evidence of self-directed learning, applied skill development, ethical commitment, and initiative beyond traditional systems.

Hope Meta University makes no claims regarding equivalency to accredited degrees. What we do claim is narrower and more useful: this person chose to learn something difficult without being made to, finished it, and can show you the work.

Standard Credential Statement

This credential certifies that the named individual has completed the stated program of study through Hope Meta University. It represents educational achievement and demonstrated effort within a non-accredited, independent metaversity and does not confer licensure, certification, or academic degree equivalency.

These terms are issued under the authority of the Founding Charter and enforced by the Office of the Dean.
