What this club is
Dialysis is long and it is lonely, and most of the people around you have never done it. The people here have.
Ask the thing you have been afraid to ask your doctor. Say the part you have been keeping off your family. Hear from somebody who was on the list for two years, or who got the call at four in the morning, or who is still waiting.
Everyone here is a patient or a family member. Nobody here is your nephrologist. Every medical question in your life still belongs to your own care team.
This is a club, not a class
Nothing here is teaching and nothing here is education. There are no lessons, no tests, no grades, and no certificates. Members share their own experience with each other, and what any member says is that member’s own view — not Hope MetaVersity’s.
What is said in this club is not medical advice. It is not clinical training, not therapy, not counselling, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, a licensed counsellor, or a treatment programme. Taking part here does not qualify anyone to practise, diagnose, treat, counsel, or advise anyone else. Hope MetaVersity is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for any hospital, transplant centre, treatment provider, or twelve-step fellowship.
What staff do here
Hope MetaVersity does not lead these conversations and does not check what members say for accuracy. Staff are here for one thing: to keep the exchange friendly, to hold everyone to the club rules, and to remove anyone who won’t be held to them.
The club rules
The same six in every club at Hope MetaVersity.
1. Share your own experience. Speak for yourself. Don’t tell anyone else what they should do.
2. No advice that belongs to a professional. No medical direction, no dosages, no diagnoses, no telling someone to change or stop a treatment. Point people to their own doctor.
3. What’s said here stays here. Don’t repeat what someone shares, and don’t bring in somebody else’s story without their say-so.
4. No accusations. Don’t name a person, a clinic, a treatment centre, or an organisation to accuse them of something. Take that where it belongs.
5. No selling. Not services, not products, not your own programme. Don’t ask members for money.
6. Be kind or be quiet. Disagree all you want. Contempt is where it stops.
