What the Recovery Campus is
Recovery has a great deal of support and very little instruction. There are meetings, sponsors, counsellors and programmes — and then there is a Tuesday afternoon where you have to open a bank account, explain a gap on a résumé, or sit across from a family member you have hurt, and nobody ever taught you how to do any of it.
The Recovery Campus teaches the part that comes after. How the practical life gets rebuilt. What to expect from your own head in month three. How to talk to an employer honestly without handing over more than you owe them. What families can actually do, and what they cannot.
It is taught from lived experience, not from a clinical chair. That is its value and also its limit, and we are clear about both.
Please read this before you enrol
Hope MetaVersity is not a treatment provider. Nothing taught here is therapy, counselling, medical advice, or clinical care of any kind.
Completing a course here does not qualify anyone to counsel, treat, advise, or sponsor another person, and it is not a recovery-coach or peer-support certification. Those credentials are issued by licensing bodies, and we are not one.
If you are in crisis, or you need treatment, please contact a licensed provider or a crisis line in your country. This campus is a place to learn — it is not a place to get help in an emergency.
What you will study
Three strands, taught plainly, with no promises attached to any of them.
The road itself
What actually happens over the first two years — the stages, the plateaus, the months that catch people off guard. Not a programme. A map, so fewer things arrive as a surprise.
Rebuilding the practical life
Identification, banking, housing applications, résumé gaps, interviews, debt, licences. The administrative wreckage that no one warns you about and that derails people who were doing fine.
For families and friends
What support looks like when it helps, and what it looks like when it quietly makes things worse. Boundaries, expectations, and how to have the conversations that keep getting postponed.
Who this is for
This campus assumes nothing about where you are, and asks nothing about it either.
- People in recovery, at any stage, including very early
- Family members, partners and friends who want to understand
- People who have relapsed and are starting again
- Anyone supporting someone and running out of ideas
- People who are simply curious and want to understand it better
